At Yamba Hearts for Uganda, we believe that financial literacy is a powerful tool for change especially for women who are at the heart of their families and communities. That belief is what drives the Yamba Financial Literacy Program, a community-based initiative where women come together to learn, save, and grow.Through this program, women receive hands-on training in basic financial skills, including budgeting, saving, planning, and responsible borrowing. They form savings groups where they regularly contribute and manage their own funds.As part of our commitment, Yamba Hearts for Uganda invests seed capital into these groups not as handouts, but as community-led business capital. The women then inject this money directly into their small enterprises, ranging from market stalls and farming to tailoring and food production.
