Feeding Program for School Children

Nourishing young minds and bodies, one meal at a time

Feeding Program for School Children

At Yamba Hearts For Uganda, we believe every child deserves access to nutritious meals while at school. Hunger is one of the biggest barriers to learning, especially for children from marginalized backgrounds. When children come to school hungry, they struggle to concentrate, perform poorly, and often drop out.

Through our Feeding Program, we provide daily meals to 287 learners and 15 teachers at Arise and Shine Junior School and other partner schools. This program improves school attendance, enhances academic performance, and promotes overall health and well-being.

Why Feeding Matters

  • Improves concentration: A well-fed child can focus better in class.

  • Boosts attendance: Meals at school encourage parents to keep their children in school.

  • Enhances performance: Proper nutrition helps children perform better academically.

  • Supports health: Proper nutrition reduces illness and promotes growth.

  • Empowers families: Relieves pressure on parents struggling to provide daily meals.

Our Commitment
