Despite the popularity of football in Uganda, women’s teams remain extremely rare. In fact, when we started, there were no official women’s football clubs in the Mpigi region, home to over 300,000 people.
Yamba Hearts FC is changing that. We are not only building a team we are building a movement. A space where girls and young women can train, compete, and lead with pride.

We’re using football not only to level the playing field but to open doors. For many girls, joining this team is their first experience of being seen, supported, and celebrated for their strength.
